Paintings

Bubbles

Acrylic on canvas
This was a project in high school. I don't remember what it was for, exactly, but I do remember bringing in spoons and reflective balls to capture my contorted face. After painting it, I used some kind of gloss all over each balloon, which made it look cool but also made it difficult to effectively photograph.

Reproduction of a Van Gogh

Acrylic on canvas
A project in high school to reproduce a famous artist's painting. I chose this one because of its bright colors and large brush strokes. I particularly enjoyed doing shading on the hat.

The Contender

Acrylic on canvas
Taking a film studies class in college at Portland State, I had to do a creative project that related somehow to a movie we watched in class. In case you couldn't guess, this is a picture of Marlon Brando from On the Waterfront.

Earth

Acrylic on canvas
A high school project to do a surreal painting. I took three clippings from a magazine and merged them together. I'm not sure what it means, but I enjoy it. The title is supposed to indicate either that Earth is in the background or the foreground, I forget which.

Ode to Oren Ishi

Acrylic on canvas
A friend of mine had a great calendar with gorgeous pictures of people and places all over the world and this was one of them. I chose it for the color and because for some reason, I really like painting and shading clothing.

Photographs

Untitled

Nikon Coolpix 5600
I took this while I was in India exploring a bird refuge, I think. Initially I was irritated that the woman went and sat on the boat because I was going to take a picture, but now I think the colors on her outfit make the photograph.

Untitled

Nikon Coolpix 5600
Two of my friends were brave enough to climb some rocks while we were camping on the beach but I decided to stay behind. I've tinted everything a little blue here and increased the contrast to bring out the sunlight.

Untitled

Nikon Coolpix 5600
The sunset wasn't great that night but I think this picture is okay. The couple on the rocks eventually started making out and then moved to a spot on the backside of the rock for whatever reason... I've warmed up this photo to bring out the sunset.

Untitled

Nikon Coolpix 5600
I hiked up the side of the hill and found a great spot where I could see down the river. I took several shots of that huge rock at the top, but this was the only one I really liked.

Untitled

Nikon Coolpix 5600
This was the first shot I took of the river when we found a spot to rest and I think it's the best. It's one of the rivers that feeds into Lake Billy Chinook.

Drawings

Bags

Charcoal on paper
This was just a short excersize in a college drawing class but for some reason I really like it. I enjoy shading things, which was what this was all about.

Self Portrait

Charcoal on paper
A self portrait. I don't really think it's great (my head is depicted rather long) but it looks clean. I'm not sure why I've included it here, possibly because I really like drawings but I don't apparently have much to show for it :-\

The Cold Shoulder

Charcoal on paper
Drawing a person is hard enough. ...now drawing a person while a naked woman watches you? Ahehe...it was uncomfortable but it turned out fine.

Graphic Design

High School Handbook

Print
My art teacher held a contest to design the handbook for the upcoming year. After the votes were counted, I won! It was very exciting.

Half-Life 2 Wallpaper

Digital
Mod Database ran a contest when Half-Life 2 came out. I thought my design was pretty good, but I don't think I came close to winning.

CameronHinkle.com

Digital
The design isn't amazing but it's the best I could come up with. I think it's a big improvement over my previous attempts at web design.
